Modern Worship Music LeaderMo

 

 

Position/Title: Modern Worship Music Leader

 

Supervisor/Reporting Relationship: Reports to Lead Pastor

 

Supervisory Responsibility: Praise Band volunteers

 

Position Status:  Part-time, 10 - 12 hours per week

 

Salary Range:  $11,000 - $12,000

 

Job Summary: The Modern Worship Music Leader will develop weekly and seasonal music selections and will recruit and lead volunteers.  This individual is eligible to simultaneously hold the position of Traditional Worship Music Director.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professing Christian in a growing relationship with Christ

  • Sets an example and serves as a role model in personal life

  • A call to ministry and spiritual gifts relevant to ministry in this particular area

  • Committed to continued personal, spiritual, and educational growth

  • Ability to develop, coordinate, oversee, and staff all areas of the modern worship music ministry

  • Effective communication/interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to work in a team environment

  • Prefer previous relevant experience in this area

  • Prefer United Methodist background (but not required)

 

Accountability:

  • Pray for staff and families of SFUMC

  • Cooperate fully with the Lead Pastor and church leaders for the good of the church

  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor to plan and put together music for 8:30 am modern worship service

  • Attend appropriate meetings at the request of the Lead Pastor

  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Pastor, Worship Ministry Team, and congregation on plans and policies

  • Support the vision and mission of SFUMC

  • Comply with SFUMC's Safe Sanctuary policies

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Meeting with planning team for “themed” services

  • Plan, lead, and coordinate praise and worship music for the 8:30 a.m. modern worship service

  • Recruit, train, and guide laity for participating in the modern worship service

  • Plan, lead, and coordinate weekly praise singers and praise band practice

  • Lead the 8:30 a.m. worship praise team

  • Coordinate music and volunteers for special services, such as Christmas, Easter, Good Friday, Maundy Thursday, Ash Wednesday, and others with the Lead Pastor and Worship Team

Supervisor/Reporting Relationship: Reports to Lead Pastor

 

Supervisory Responsibility: Organist and pianist

 

Position Status:  Part-time, 10 - 12 hours per week

 

Salary Range:  $11,000 - $12,000

 

Job Summary: The Traditional Worship Music Leader will develop weekly and seasonal music selections and will recruit and lead volunteers.  This individual is eligible to simultaneously hold the position of Modern Worship Music Director.

  • Communicate regularly with the Lead Pastor, Worship Ministry Team, and congregation on plans and policies

  • Support the vision and mission of SFUMC

  • Comply with SFUMC's Safe Sanctuary policies

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consult with Lead Pastor regarding music aspects of traditional worship service, including selection and leading of hymns

  • Direct Adult Choir for traditional worship service

  • Direct Adult Handbell Choir for traditional worship service

  • Coordinate music and volunteers for special services, such as Christmas, Easter, Good Friday, Maundy Thursday, Ash Wednesday, and others with the Lead Pastor and Worship Team

  • Coordination of music accompaniment with part time musicians
